Direct Debit / PAD stands for Pre Authorized Debit. In Canada, the PAD network is a highly reliable and efficient nationwide electronic funds transfer system used for inter-bank clearances of electronic payments. It's a great way to transfer money because the amount is directly debited from your account after you book a transaction. Clearly, that saves you time and effort.
Apart from the reliability and stability of a nationwide system, ACH transfer gives you many
other advantages:
- You can schedule your regular payments like loan EMIs and insurance premiums.
- You can send money from not just one but many Canadian bank accounts.
- It's totally online. There's no need to visit your bank at all.
- A one-time verification of your bank account makes sure that your details are safe and secure.
Direct Debit operates only in Canada; so you can send money only in CAD.
